World Waterfowl Day at Sylvan Heights Bird Park

Sylvan Heights Bird Park will be celebrating the inaugural World Waterfowl Day on January 17, 2025 with events throughout the day. Meet waterfowl up close during Keeper Chats with park bird keepers, win prizes for completing a QR-code based waterfowl scavenger hunt in the park, and more! The day will also include a special event in memory of Mike Lubbock, waterfowl conservationist and co-founder of Sylvan Heights Bird Park.
Schedule of Events:
11:00 am: Waterfowl Keeper Chat in the Sylvan Heights Visitor Center (Golden Leaf Room). Meet a Sylvan Heights Bird Keeper and learn about waterfowl!
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Ceremony in memory of Mike Lubbock, co-founder of Sylvan Heights Bird Park, at Toad Hall Pavilion
2:30 pm: Waterfowl Keeper Chat in the Sylvan Heights Visitor Center (Golden Leaf Room). Meet a Sylvan Heights Bird Keeper and learn about waterfowl!
All day: QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a game sheet at the Visitor Center, then search the park for QR codes containing waterfowl facts! Bring your completed game sheet back to the Visitor Center for a prize.
All day: Waterfowl Coloring and Craft Station. Warm up in the Sylvan Heights Visitor Center and enjoy educational waterfowl activities, coloring, and crafts!
